into any home decor. Read on to learn about some basic starting points on how to use a monochromatic scheme in order to make your kitchen bloom in a modern way.

This article will show how to go the monochromatic way. In order to stay true to one hue, you have to either choose one flower or only flowers that are different shades of the same color.
How to use a monochromatic scheme when decorating your kitchen with a contemporary/modern flower theme:
You can choose to either blend all of the different hues of one color together or just choose one light version and one dark version.
1. Choose your wall color first. Use the palest color on the walls and if you have trim, paint it the darkest.
2. Also pick out flooring in the deepest hue of your color choice.
3.Try to stay consistent with the materials- if you use a linoleum floor, use a laminate counter top; if you use tile, use it for both. Laminate comes in a large variety of patterns. This is a great opportunity to introduce the large variety of hues for your color. With a little searching, you can find one that incorporates the lightest and darkest and everything in between. If you choose tile, do the same by choosing a variety of depths of your color and finish off the edges with the darkest. If you choose to do a solid color block, make sure to finish off the edges with with the opposite shade for contrast.
4. Paint the cabinets so that they flow with the scheme. Depending on your tastes, you can paint them the color of the walls to blend in or darker/lighter to stand out. You could also do a two-tone effect by painting the base one color and the doors a shade darker or lighter. Add some chrome hardware to finish them off.
